Understanding Cloud

Many people today will have heard about the so called cloud online but not so many people fully understand what the cloud is. The cloud basically is a huge data storage facility which is based online and so can be accessed by anywhere online. The data that can be stored online in a cloud includes documents, photos and even music and so you no longer need to fill up the storage space on your own device with music, you merely store that music in the cloud and access it as and when you need it, from where ever you may need it. You do not even have to access it from the device you saved it to the cloud from; you can access it from any device, providing you have the password for that cloud account. This saves storing lots of stuff on your device, possibly causing it to slow down and yet is just as easily accessible. There are several different cloud services available today including the iCloud which is specifically for Apple device users. To understand Apple’s cloud you would have to first read their homepage but basically, if you are a user of Apple devices, the iCloud offers more features than a regular cloud facility would. Businesses are finding cloud services very useful and more and more businesses are availing themselves f these services. A cloud can basically extend a business’s network without limiting it to just a set of nearby offices. As the cloud can be updated by any device authorized by the account holder, many different members of staff can update files as and when needed and of course they can also access those files regardless of whether they are in their office or not. All that is needed to access any cloud account is an internet connection and the cloud password which of course should only be shared with as few people as necessary. With different members of staff being able to update files as and when needed from where they are, a CEO or business owner can expect the files to be up to date with the current situation and know that some critical information is waiting to be added once someone returns to their office. This is also particular useful for someone on a business trip as instead of ensuring they download all relevant files to their laptop before leaving, they need merely access the files they need once they arrive at the venue for their meeting. If no information is stored on a businessman’s laptop, there is no information that can be lost should the laptop be lost or damaged. There are many more uses for the cloud especially now that there is software which has been especially designed to keep accounting records in the cloud. All the different cloud services offer almost limitless space but as you pay for the amount of space you want, only get what you need as you can always increase the amount at a later date should it become necessary.
